How Trends Are Identified
AcaTrove identifies trends by analyzing several signals:
- Publication velocity -- Topics with an accelerating number of publications over recent months.
- Citation momentum -- Areas where recent papers are receiving citations faster than the field average.
- Cross-discipline emergence -- Topics appearing in multiple fields simultaneously, suggesting interdisciplinary interest.
- Semantic clustering -- New topic clusters forming in the embedding space of your document library, indicating emerging sub-fields.
Trends are refreshed periodically as new publications are indexed and your library grows.
