Career Hub Overview

The Career Hub is AcaTrove's central workspace for managing your academic career. It brings together CV management, job tracking, application preparation, and AI-assisted document generation into a single location. Whether you are a graduate student preparing for your first faculty search or a tenured professor exploring new opportunities, the Career Hub organizes the operational side of career advancement.

What the Career Hub Includes

The Career Hub is accessible from the Career section in the sidebar at /career. It contains four primary areas:

CV Management -- Upload and manage your curriculum vitae. AcaTrove parses your CV to extract structured data such as education history, positions held, publications, and awards. This structured data powers other features throughout the platform. See CV Management for details.

Job Tracking -- Maintain a board of positions you are interested in or have applied to. Track each application through its lifecycle, from initial interest through interview stages to final outcome. See Job Tracking for details.

Application Packets -- Assemble complete application packages by combining your CV, cover letters, research statements, teaching statements, and other documents into a single exportable packet. The Professional Assistant section provides additional tools for building and reviewing packets.

Personal Statements -- Draft research statements, teaching philosophies, and diversity statements with AI-powered analysis that provides structural and content feedback. See Personal Statements for details.

Who Is the Career Hub For?

The Career Hub is designed for academics at every stage:

  • Graduate students preparing for the academic job market or industry positions. Track potential positions and build application materials over time rather than scrambling at the last minute.
  • Postdoctoral researchers managing active job searches across multiple institutions and assembling tailored application packets for each position.
  • Professors maintaining an up-to-date CV, tracking leadership opportunities, or preparing materials for promotion and tenure review.

Getting Started

To begin using the Career Hub:

  1. Navigate to /career from the sidebar.
  2. Upload your current CV to populate your career profile. AcaTrove will parse and organize its contents automatically.
  3. Start adding positions you are tracking or applications you have submitted.
  4. Use the document generation tools to draft or refine statements and cover letters.

Tips

  • Upload your CV early, even if it needs updating. The parsed data feeds into match scoring for grants and job recommendations.
  • Connect your ORCID profile in Settings to automatically import publications and positions into your career profile.
  • The Career Hub works best alongside the Professional Assistant, which provides AI-powered review and packet assembly features.
