Professor / PI Dashboard

The Professor/PI dashboard is designed for faculty members who lead research groups. It consolidates information about your active projects, publication pipeline, student progress, and upcoming grant deadlines into a single view.

Dashboard Panels

Active Projects

This panel lists every project you own or co-lead, sorted by most recent activity. Each row shows the project title, current phase (e.g., Data Collection, Analysis, Writing), and the number of collaborators. Click any project to open it directly.

Recent Publications

A summary of publications added to your AcaTrove library in the last 30 days. Entries include the title, journal or preprint server, submission status, and co-author list. Use the Upload Publication quick action to add new work.

Student Progress

If you supervise graduate students or postdocs through AcaTrove, this panel shows each advisee's current milestones, recent activity, and any overdue tasks. A colored indicator marks students who may need attention -- for example, those with no activity in the past two weeks.

Grant Deadlines

Upcoming grant deadlines are displayed in chronological order. Each entry shows the funding agency, program name, deadline date, and your current submission status (Not Started, In Progress, Submitted). AcaTrove pulls deadlines from grants you have linked to your account.

Lab Activity

A feed of recent actions across your entire lab: publications uploaded, documents shared, comments posted, and AI analyses run. This gives you a high-level pulse on lab productivity without opening individual projects.

Collaboration Requests

Pending invitations from other researchers appear here. You can accept, decline, or message the requester directly from the panel.

Impact Metrics

A summary of citation counts, h-index, and altmetric scores for your published work. Data is updated periodically from linked sources.

Recommended Workflows

  1. Morning review -- Start each day by scanning Grant Deadlines and Student Progress to identify items that need immediate attention.
  2. Weekly lab check -- Review the Lab Activity feed at least once a week to stay informed about your group's output.
  3. Publication pipeline -- Use the Recent Publications panel alongside the AI Writing Assistant to move drafts toward submission.

Tips

  • Pin your most critical project to the top of the Active Projects list by clicking the pin icon next to its title.
  • Set up deadline reminders in Settings > Notifications to receive email alerts 7 and 14 days before grant deadlines.
  • Use the Open AI Panel quick action to ask questions about any document visible on the dashboard.
